The Mag-Rules are a line of industrial quality rulers that like to stick to metal surfaces through the magic mystery of magnets. How do they work? No one knows, but someday we will unlock its secrets. What we do know, is how to harness this magnetic power and make a ruler out of it.

Let me tell you, these Mag-Rules are useful in a multitude of different applications. How many times have you needed to do some hands-free measuring next to your favorite steel door? Twice this morning, you say? Suppose you need to know the width of a volatile chemical tank, but your boss will not let you mount your ruler to the outside with a couple of nails… Happens all the time. What about needing a ruler on your Gutenberg printing press, only discover you actually needed it on your OTHER Gutenberg printing press, but now your adhesive ruler just will not come off of it? Our incredible series of magnetic rulers is the answer to each of those problems, and probably a few more.

Oregon Rule Co.’s standard Mag-Rules come in three popular ruler sizes (2’, 3’, & 4’). Each length has two reading direction options, Left-to-Right and Right-to-Left, and their (…incredibly reasonable…) prices are listed in the chart on the next page. Mag-Rules’ standard width is 1” with black graphics on a yellow background.

The ORC Forensics designed Mr. T-Square™ is a pocket sized T-Square whose purpose is to provide a quick frame of reference for pictures or they can used as a tool for drawing and drafting.  Two different material options are available, a white plastic background and a clear (see-thru) plastic option, each approximately 0.03” thick.  Further, we offer these materials with graphics measuring fractional (inches with 1/16” graduations) and metric (centimeters with 1mm graduations).  The dimensions of the Mr. T-Square™ are 4” x 6” or 10cm x 15cm.

The designs on these tools include our Optirectilinear® graphics, which are the black rectangles you see on many of our products.  These patterns help the user read measurements from a greater distance and provide greater clarity of major increments when analyzing photographs.

When you have a couple Mr. T-Squares™ you can combine them to create other simple tools, ones that work like a slide caliper or create an accurate 6” x 6” corner square.

Though we did not invent or design it, we are proud to distribute these Keson Pocket Rods to our forensic customers.  While they may look like standard tape measures, in actuality each of these tools are a rigid height gauge that are designed to roll into a housing that looks like a tape measure.  And though you can pull the tape out part way and use it like a roll tape, its uniqueness and functionality comes from pulling the tape completely out of its case creating a stable rule for vertical measurements.

The rule itself is nearly 1” wide and comes in two reading varieties, fractional and metric.  The fractional model shows black graphics on the inner/concave side of the rule and red graphics on the other side.  Major increments, inches and feet, are labeled with graduations reading down to the 1/8”, for the entirety of its 6 1/2’ length.  The metric model is very similar; the red graphics are inside on the concave side this time, with black graphics on the other side.  This unit reads in centimeters with 1/10th meter labels, all the way up to 2 meters.

The ruler itself is a steel blade with a Tecron-tuff coating so that it is weather and moisture resistant.  The end is a heavy-duty hook that reads at true zero.  Using the rule as a height rod, the Keson Rod nearly stands up on its own.   Just put a little weight on the hook, like stepping on it with your foot, and it stands up firm and true. 

Originally created for industrial purposes, this convenient surveyor’s pole can be used for grading, foundation work, swimming pool excavating, and for construction records.  We offer this item to our ORC Forensic customers because it is incredibly useful for collision studies and other large items that need a frame of reference for their investigative photos.
