We designed our Photo Markers to serve several purposes. The first and most obvious is creating a high quality and readable marker to identify evidence or other points of interest. The color schemes and fonts are bold and contrast with each other to create dynamic and legible indicators. In the largest size, the font is visibly recognizable to around 100 feet away. Additionally, all units are treated to be non-glare to embrace different situations where these markers will be photographed. The Photo Markers are made from a high quality .06” thick plastic. On the backside of each marker card is a strip of slip resistant material so that the unit can stand up right on nearly any surface. The two larger sizes come with a top center hole, big enough to stick a thin stake through, which is used for securing the markers in windy conditions.
The second purpose is the ability to use these Photo Markers as a frame of reference. We do that by providing a ruler at the base of each of these stands. You can choose between a rule that reads in inches and one that is in centimeters that goes entirely across the bottom of the unit. Our Optirectilinear® graphics (the black rectangles on the ruler) are incorporated in these designs as well, which helps at reading measurements from a distance.
Three sizes of Photo Markers are available, the exact measurements of which are listed in the chart. There are several color combinations listed there for each size as well. The characters on the Photo Markers, purchased in sets, are capital letters A-Z, and large numbers from 0 up to 200. Also, purchased individually, are Photo Markers that incorporate an arrow (pointer) design, which tightly pivots in the center allowing 360º of rotation. This is an improvement over the old styles, where you needed to carry several fixed arrows in different orientations. Use these when needing to specifically identify a point of interest.
For the medium and large sizes of Photo Markers, an additional Corner Square Foot can be purchased. These are built attached to the bottom of the Photo Markers, fold out, and provide an even more precise frame of reference. Frame evidence like bullet casings or blood splatters within the corner square and photograph it to analyze later. This complete unit is compact and creates an item that serves several purposes, which eliminates the amount of equipment needed at each job site.
